Thirty Days to Glory: Winner!
First of all, if you enjoyed my blog interview with Mom and haven't read the next two interviews at Felicity's blog [link no longer available] and Charity's, you really should click those links and head there. It's delightful. Although, Mom does officially owe me therapy for bald-faced lying about the favorite child thing.
On Saturday I spent the best day ever - all afternoon surrounded by books, books, books (and movie posters and greeting cards and candy) at Hastings in Kirksville, Missouri, for a mother-daughter book signing TO END ALL BOOK SIGNINGS. It was epic. I really think Nicholas Sparks would be jealous. In all seriousness, it was a dream come true for me. It was where I want to be and what I want to be every day and for all of eternity amen. I had family, I had friends, and I had - as aforementioned - books abounding. It was a great day. I am so grateful to everyone who stopped by, so moved by it, and so profoundly happy.
Mom and I also grabbed a lull in the streaming masses* to draw a name for the winner of Mom's book, Thirty Days to Glory. (If your name is announced, email me! I want to say a personal congratulations and get your mailing info for Mom's publisher.)
*P.S. We say things like "streaming masses" in a sarcastic voice, because the masses do not actually stream and we want to make sure you know we are aware of our small (but valuable!) place in publishing and in the world. However, in this case, I have to say in all seriousness that we had a lovely crowd - we really did have trouble finding a lull - and we owe that to a whole bunch of YOU. I'm so grateful. Big fat happinesses right back to you. -Sb
