Do You Know What This Means?

Yes, it does mean that another tree has fulfilled its Christmas destiny. Though not the one pictured at the top - we changed our minds right after the picture was taken and ended up slaying and hauling the beautiful carcass Michael and Jake are dragging. At home we put all the beautiful ornaments on it, the pretty white twinkle-lights I love, and something felt like it was missing. So out came the big fat colored lights Michael bought a couple years ago then revealed to me with these words, "Can you say retro?" Now, as my mother always says, it's the prettiest tree we ever had.

But you know what else it means? Second draft, Baby. DONE. I wrote the words The End last night. Are you actually supposed to put The End at the end of a manuscript? I have no idea. But I did it anyway. And it felt. so. good.

The tree really is beautiful. And so well-earned.
